Hôtel Reine Mathilde in Bayeux, France, is a delightful retreat offering not only comfortable accommodations but also an excellent bistro serving classic French dishes. The hotel's convenient location near the cathedral makes it a perfect base for exploring the charming town, and everything is within walking distance. With its proximity to the D-Day beaches and easy day trips to Mont Saint-Michel and other Normandy towns, you can easily spend four or five days here. A helpful tip for visitors – drop off your luggage at the hotel and park at the rotary near a field, just a 10-minute walk away, where ample free parking awaits. This thoughtful touch enhances the overall experience of staying at Hôtel Reine Mathilde.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the Hotel Reine Mathilde in August. We used Bayeux as our base for exploring the Normandy area. It was a perfect location for our 2-day Normandy tour pickup and our tour pickup for a day at Mont St. Michel. It was within easy walking distance of all the attractions in Bayeux, as well - tapestry, Cathedral, river walk and the charming shop-filled streets! We stayed in the annex across from the main hotel. It was worth a bit extra $ for a much larger, well-appointed comfortable room. The staff even placed our luggage in the room for us, which required hauling it across the street and up two sets of outdoor stairs! We had appetizers and a meal in their restaurant. Their food was very good. We would definitely stay here again!

Highly recommend this affordable hotel in the center of bayeux for all of your Normandy based excursions. I stayed for 4 nights in November as a base for MSM and D Day beaches. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant attached serves breakfast buffet for €15 and it was worthwhile, especially if you are getting up for a long day trip. The staff was very helpful with answering all of my questions, getting me into my room early and even looking up buses for me to my next location. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Our room was large and very comfortable. We enjoyed the private courtyard for our morning coffee and croissants. The location was walkable to attractions, restaurants and cafes. Overall - we highly recommend!

Great location for taking a tour of Omaha beach. Clean room and good bed. Breakfast is good, but only hard boiled eggs. Customer service was friendly and efficient!

Great location in the historic part of town. Clean and quiet. The rooms are small but nicely decorated. The staff provides outstanding assistance. There is a restaurant and the food was good. I would be glad to stay there again.
